  • This position will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless execution of surgical procedures. Coordinates the activities of a selected group of surgical subspecialties within the operating room and communicates with members of the Operating Room team to facilitate the care of the patient for a specific population. This involves meticulous organization with suppliers to guarantee that the right equipment and materials are on hand, preventing any delays or issues during surgeries.

    In addition to logistical duties, they serve as an educator for the surgical staff, providing training on new equipment and supplies. This ensures that the team is proficient in the latest technologies and techniques, promoting efficient and safe surgical practices. Your role as an educator extends to conducting in-service sessions and creating instructional materials, which enhance the staff's knowledge and confidence in using new tools.

    This position will also coordinate closely with surgeons and vendors to ensure their availability aligns with the scheduled surgery times. This collaboration is vital for the smooth running of the OR, as it ensures that all parties are prepared, and any potential issues are addressed beforehand.

    OR Clinical Specialist will work with OR leadership on process improvements and safety initiatives. Assist in streamlining workflows, enhancing patient safety, and improving overall efficiency within the surgical environment. By identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices, they contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in patient care. This role consists of clinical knowledge, judgement, and sound clinical reasoning skills.
  • This position is employed by Mosaic Health System.







  • Maintains scheduling and Operating Room readiness for specific surgical procedures. Maintains seven day a week, 24 hour a day capabilities of the operating room.

  • Coordinates all activities within a given group of specialties. Responsible for specialty supplies, including instruments, disposables, implants, and drapes/packs. Maintains inventory on these items to ensure Operating Room readiness. Creates, maintain and update Surgical Procedure Cards per Physician request within the given group of specialties.

  • Provides orientation, training, and education to new surgical personnel within the assigned specialty. Assists with staff assignments. Participates in the planning and conducting of formal and informal education for the Operating Room staff.

  • Tracks and maintains surgical implant and tissue databases.
  • Scrubs and circulates as necessary to assist with teaching and staffing.







  • Bachelor's Degree - Graduate of a school of nursing is required.

  • RN  - Registered Nurse - State Licensure And/Or Compact State Licensure in the state of Missouri is required. 

  • Five years in perioperative nursing is required.
