The Clinical Business Manager (CBM) will report to the Senior Director of U.S. Field Sales and Clinical, Americas, and have a dotted line into the Clinical Center of Excellence. The CBM will partner with the Regional Sales Directors to balance commercial activities along with clinical culture. The CBM will provide an in-depth understanding of the healthcare provider landscape at the national and regional market levels to influence regional growth strategies. The CBM will carry out change management related to clinical transformation initiatives and organizational transformation.

This is a field based position that will support our Southeast- US Region. This region covers; Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The expectation is to travel and be in the field about 50% of the time and remote the remaining time. Candidates must reside within the region.
  • Partner with the Senior Director of Sales and Regional Sales Director(s) to drive strategic leadership within national and regional clinical organizations.

  • Develop, lead, and execute clinical activities, programs, and initiatives to optimize resources and impact business operations, results, and patient outcomes.

  • Identify opportunities to improve clinical performance using sales and clinical KPIs, establishing critical clinical objectives for fiscal periods.

  • Implement strategies to achieve short and long-term business objectives related to AOP, patient retention, training quality, SLAs, NPS, and trainer program management.

  • Drive external and internal trainer strategy, quality measures, compliance, and budget efficiency.

  • Lead clinical transformation changes focused on patient experience improvement, HCP burden reduction, and excellent clinical outcomes.

  • Partner with commercial teams to advocate for therapy by developing HCPs and managing trainers to improve patient outcomes.

  • Act as a key change transformation agent for clinical change initiatives nationally and regionally.

  • Maintain knowledge of insulin products and emerging technologies and their impact on our product pipeline.

  • Provide clinical updates and serve as clinical SMEs to enhance understanding of current, new, and emerging therapies.

  • Serve as a clinical liaison and consultant between field & clinical, commercial teams, Clinical Center of Excellence, and enabling functions.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with sales leaders to ensure information flow on product needs and market conditions.

  • Manage expenses within budget, maximizing effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Participate in conventions and meetings to increase product awareness and market dynamics.

  • Work without appreciable direction, promoting Medtronic's mission, strategies, policies, procedures, and Code of Conduct.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience (medical device/pharmaceutical/healthcare industry experience in people or program management, project management, field clinical specialist manager, or clinical education/training manager)

  • Advanced degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (medical device/pharmaceutical/healthcare industry experience in people or program management, project management, field clinical specialist manager, or clinical education/training manager).

Nice to Have

  • Ideal candidates will have current clinical licensure (CDCES, RN, RD, NP, PA, PharmD)

  • Previous Diabetes experience is highly preferred

  • Prior experience leading high-performance sales teams in the medical device industry

  • Demonstrated skills in business planning, consulting, and territory financial analysis

  • Experience in identifying economic drivers to maximize performance

  • Strong data analysis, evaluation, and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated effective understanding of profitability and can balance company and customer goals

  • Can work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors

  • Ability to exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$143,000 - $152,000

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

In addition to Base Salary, this position is eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP), which provides the opportunity to earn significant incentive compensation for achieving or exceeding your goals.
