Overview






The Clinical Specialist I will provide on-site clinical services for the Behavioral Psychology department based on principles of applied behavior analysis to reduce child problem behaviors and increase adaptive skills. The incumbent will provide parent, teacher, and staff training, and monitor the effectiveness and implementation of behavioral protocols in community settings.









Responsibilities






  1. Assist in the development of individual assessment and treatment plans. Conceptualize assessment and treatment plans and contribute during supervision meetings to overall development of the program.
  2. Conduct sessions, time management, collection of data, protocol development, implementation, and review.
  3. Provide training for parent, teachers, and staff and provide diplomatic and appropriate corrective feedback. Ensure protocols are carried out correctly. Demonstrate sensitivity to parent concerns. Provide timely updates to supervisory staff.
  4. Initiate and maintain contact with relevant disciplines (e.g., nursing and social workers). Incorporate feedback from other professionals into assessment and treatment plan. Provide timely training to other professionals.
  5. Develop data collection system for parents, teachers and staff. Obtain follow-up data in a timely manner. Maintain up-to-date graphs. Organize and present data in ways to facilitate interpretation.
  6. Complete evaluation reports, progress notes and correspondence in a timely and thorough manner.
  7. Anticipate problems and develop alternative strategies for solving problems. Generate solutions independently and in conjunction with case manager.
  8. Alter presentation according to audience. Conceptualize information and succinctly summarize for audience. Answer questions relating to conceptualization of case (e.g., methodology) or practical issues.








Qualifications






EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree required.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Experience working with the developmentally disabled population or children with behavioral disorders is required.

The targeted staring salary/hourly rate for an entry-level candidate for this position is $17/h - $20/h.
