Coloplast has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Specialist to join our Clinical Education team.  You will be responsible to educate clinicians, troubleshoot challenges, and nurture relationships with healthcare professionals.  As a board certified WOC nurse, this individual provides clinical expertise in the area of ostomy care.  Activities include a combination of live and virtual training and education for internal and external customers. 


 


You will serve as a clinical expert as a regionally focused clinical resource to the organization.


 



Major Areas of Accountability:



 


Help raising the standard of care in the Ostomy space:



  • Maintain professional credentials and education to maintain status as a clinical expert through board certification as a Wound, Ostomy, and Continence nurse

  • Partner with marketing and medical affairs to develop educational programs for diverse groups of internal and external customers. These may be live, web-based or virtual programs.

  • Attend relevant national and regional conferences and tradeshows as a Coloplast representative.  Depending on the meeting objectives, you may be helping to coordinate Coloplast clinical acitivites, speaker engagements, interacting with key customers, and attending scientific programs. 

  • Develop and nurture relationships with industry Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and subject matter experts.  This includes developing KOLs and experts to speak on behalf of Coloplast, while also gaining feedback for new potential products.

  • Contribute articles for professional and end user publications


 


Regional sales team support:



  • Develop clinical education programs in partnership with marketing for internal and external customers

  • Align educational resources with key sales initiatives of the business unit

  • Maximize individual clinical resources and energies towards overall success of business units

  • Provide clinical support for key account strategic planning and educational initiatives

  • Where necessary, partner with sales training team to own and execute clinical material for new sales representatives


 



Essential Qualifications:




  • Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s Degree

  • Current Wound, Ostomy, and Continence (WOC) nurse board certification

  • 5+ years experience in a clinical setting working with ostomy patients and/or end users

  • Domestic travel required –- 50% - 70% annually

  • Preference for individuals located near a major airport

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:




  • Strong clinical acumen in ostomy managment, selection, and support

  • Effective written and presentation skills

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret clinical publications

  • Proven success with organization and time management skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to tailor training and education in order to serve many audiences

  • High attention to detail and follow-through

  • Flexible with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in order to support marketing and sales needs.

  • Self-starter
