Clinical Specialist - Physical Therapy – Acute Care Medicine/ Surgical Units- Days

The Rehabilitation Medicine Department at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is one of the largest in the nation. In addition to the duties and responsibilities of a physical therapist, the Clinical Specialist serves as a clinical resource to staff, provides input to clinical programming, and participates in departmental and hospital education programs and service excellence initiatives. The successful candidate must demonstrate advanced clinical skills and knowledge in the assessment and treatment of patients in the acute rehabilitation setting.  This may include the rehabilitation of patients with acute strokes, cancer, trauma, post-surgical patients and the sequela of prolonged hospital stays.

 

This is a full-time day shift position, working Monday-Friday, 8:30 - 4:30, with weekend and holiday coverage.

 

Preferred Criteria

  • 5 years of experience

  • Experience in an acute care setting.  Well-rounded rehabilitation expertise in areas such as geriatrics, orthopedics, oncology, cardiopulmonary and neurological diagnoses.    

 

Required Criteria

  • 2 years of experience as a practicing Physical Therapist

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy

  • New York State Physical Therapy License

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification

$106,000-$152,000/Annual
