About BROC:
At the Baton Rouge Orthopedic Clinic our goal is to provide a seamless continuum of health care services to maximize patients’ outcomes and convenience. We offer an organized and coordinated continuum to provide better and timelier feedback between the patient, physician, and ancillary services provider. Our main campus is located on Bluebonnet, but we have various clinics and therapies across the state of Louisiana as well as the BROC foundation that supports local schools and athletic programs by providing services throughout various communities.
Summary:
The position reports directly to the DME Manager for all matters, including job duties, performance evaluations, approval of leave, and for other assignments as deemed necessary for the benefit of the Baton Rouge Orthopedic Clinic (BROC). The position will be at our Bluebonnet Main Campus. This positions overall duty is responsible for properly fitting and educating patients on orthopedic durable medical equipment (“DMEâ€). You will be responsible for gathering necessary paperwork to facilitate billing on behalf of the contracted client and collect payments at time of service as directed.
Duties:
· Properly fit and provide education to patients on the application, use, care, and expected outcome for DME products as indicated by the prescribing physician instructions and manufacturer recommendations
· Educate patients on their insurance plans and provisions, financial responsibility, and collection of patient out-of-pocket portion
· Document and reconcile inventory, monthly billings, and cash receipts
· Track, maintain, and order assets for the contracted client’s OrthoDME Program including inventory and medical supplies
· Ensure that all necessary documentation is obtained as it relates to third party payer requirements and standard operating procedures
· Ensure proper reports, records, policies, and procedures are maintained relative to the performance of required daily activities
· Complete Complaint Logs and ensure corrective actions are taken and documented
· Develop and maintain clinic-specific Operations Manual for the OrthoDME Program
· Perform patient scheduling for DME product pick-up, fitting, education, order processing, delivery (if applicable), and courtesy call back
· Actively promote and foster good relations interdepartmentally and with external case managers, third party payers, vendor manufacturers and suppliers, physicians, and clinical and surgery center employees
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or related field (highly preferred)
· Some knowledge on fitting patient with DME (preferred)
· Reliable form of transportation to work daily
· Ability to pass a drug screening
· Ability to learn computerized medical office work

Salary:
· $16-18 Hourly (depending on level on experience)
