Description

The Children's Home of Poughkeepsie has been caring for children throughout the Hudson Valley for over 175 years! We strive to empower children and families to achieve optimal health and well being. We are currently seeking a Lead Clinical Specialist to work in our Preventive Program.




Position Summary:




The Preventive Program Lead Clinical Specialist provides direct clinical services to youth and families in the mandated preventive program. Clinical services include but are not limited to individual, group and family therapy including assessment, evaluation and treatment. The Lead Clinical Specialist also supervises the Preventive Program Caseworkers.


 


Schedule: 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday with rotating on-call responsibilities

Qualifications

MINIMUM Qualifications:



  • MSW or MHC required

  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience

  • At least 1 year of experience working with children and families

  • Valid NYS Driver License in good condition as determined by the Agency

  • Must complete and pass a pre-employment physical, PPD and drug screen and an annual physical and PPD.


PREFERRED Qualifications:



  • LMSW, LCSW, LMHC preferred

  • Training in Functional Family Therapy preferred

  • Experience working with youth and families touched by the child welfare system

  • Experience working with temporary assistance, SNAP, Food stamps, etc.


Physical Demands and Work Environment:



  • Ability to sit periodically for computer based work

  • Able to safely operate an agency vehicle in accordance with NYS motor vehicle law

  • Ability to navigate community settings and in home visits
