Kaman Specialty Bearings & Engineered Products, has an exciting opportunity as a CNC Machinist III, nights, at our Bloomfield CT facility. Kaman Specialty Bearings & Engineered Products, a division of Kaman Corporation, is a leader in the design and manufacture of high technology mechanical products, such as self-lubricated bearings and driveline couplings, used in aviation, marine, hydropower and other industrial applications. 

• With limited technical supervision, checks out programming, sets up, operates and adjusts computer numerically controlled machine tools to perform a series of progressive machining operations on repetitive work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications
• Works from programs, operation sheets, and machine setup instructions
• Self-sufficient with material clamping methods, machine adjustments/offsets and console settings
• Operations include drilling, honing, boring, milling and turning, screw machine operation, etc., on routine and repetitive operations

Education:   

• High School diploma/GED
• Machining Training Certificate preferred

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a CNC Machinist II or minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience as a CNC machinist

Skills / Knowledge

• Understanding of Common GD&T restraints such as runout, concentricity, and Parallelism
• Proficient in use of shop math
• Limited technical supervision
• Requires knowledge of machining techniques such as cutting jaws, touching tools off and tramming fixtures
• Familiarity with computer numerically controlled machine tool operating procedures such as dry run, geometry and wear offsets, MDI functions and basic G codes
