A Day in the Life

At Medtronic, the National Market Development Representative II, Laser Ablation manages day to day activities of the US Laser Ablation strategic sales initiatives. This role supports sales representatives in accomplishing sales objectives by building customer relationships and developing, as well as, supporting procedural account development activities for the epilepsy and oncology markets. This role reports directly to the Business Director.

This is a field based role.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Regional Sales and performance accountability for nationally focused activities.

  • Plans and executes technical activities that drive towards the optimization of laser ablation market growth and best in class clinical outcomes in epilepsy and oncology.

  • Collaborates with the National Laser Ablation Consultant and District Brain (Neurosurgery and Neuromodulation) teams to establish sales growth plans to meet and exceed laser ablation sales quota

  • Relationship selling, partnering and managing accounts

  • Submits periodic reports detailing activities/sales volumes/training needs

  • Promotes, sells and secures orders from existing and potential customers

  • Account development and opening of new accounts;

  • Supports the launch of new accounts, procedures in new accounts and help accelerate sustainable growth of accounts from develop-top accounts.

  • Collaborates daily with the National Laser Ablation Consultant team to develop new and existing accounts.

  • Trains and educates physicians, hospital staff, and/or other professional end-users in workflow techniques, procedure best practices and indications for use of the company's products.

  • Provides on-call customer support and serves as primary technical advice to customers.

  • Serves as liaison to Laser Ablation Key Opinion Leaders

  • Guides, directs, and motivates Brain Sales Force;

  • Increase awareness and understanding of laser ablation within Brain sales force.

  • Deliver key marketing messages and strategies to Brain District Teams.

  • Educates sales personnel by providing presentations at sales meetings.

  • Product and market development responsibilities;

  • Helps ensure the success of sales/marketing plan through sales efforts directed towards Brain Sales Force and customers.

  • Participates in internal and external presentations, conventions, forums and meetings to give information regarding laser ablation products.

  • Handles product-related problems with customers as required.

Qualifications

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident in your applicant profile.

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 5 years of sales experience with 3 of those 5 years in medical sales; or

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 3 years of Medtronic Neuroscience (Pain, Brain or Spine) Clinical Specialist or Sales Rep experience plus 2 years of additional prior clinical or medical sales experience.

Nice to Have: Preferences

  • Ability to quickly master complicated concepts: Neurosurgery, Stereotaxis, Imaging, and/or Tissue Ablation

  • Ability to build recognized and business-wise relevant relationships with professionals in the medical field and within the Brian Sales Force.

  • Experience in the oncology or epilepsy space

  • Ability to build and utilize networks with professionals in the healthcare industry

  • Critical, creative and ethical

  • Proven presentations and concept selling skills: Fluent in the use of MS-Office components.

**Must have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy. In addition, your driving record will be reviewed and will be considered as part of your application.

Additional Job Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be independently mobile

  • Required to interact with a computer for extended periods of time, and communicate with peers and co-workers

  • Extensive travel required (60-70% of working time)

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$100,000.00 - $100,000.00

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

In addition to Base Salary, this position is eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP), which provides the opportunity to earn significant incentive compensation for achieving or exceeding your goals.
