Position Summary:
The VAT Compliance Specialist will be responsible for preparing and submitting monthly, quarterly, and annual VAT returns, Intrastat reports, and EU Sales Listings. This role involves securing timely VAT payments, managing VAT refunds, and maintaining clear records of VAT balances. The specialist will perform VAT account reconciliations, support VAT audits, and ensure compliance with tax regulations by working closely with local tax authorities. The position also includes verifying the VAT compliance of purchase and sales invoices and acting as the point of contact for VAT-related inquiries from internal and external parties. Additionally, the specialist will address system issues related to SAP in collaboration with IT and identify VAT risks while helping to implement improvements to the ERP system.
Essential Functions:
Preparing and submission of monthly, quarterly and annual VAT returns, Intrastat reports and EU Sales Listings.
Secure timely VAT payments and follow up on VAT refunds. Clear tracking of the balances and communicating with all related teams with internal and external parties.
Performing VAT accounts reconciliations and analysis.
Support VAT audits and communicate with local tax authorities.
Verify that purchase and sales invoices are compliant from VAT perspective. Being a contact point with external customers, suppliers and internal organization.
Addressing system issues related to SAP and help resolving them in cooperation with IT.
Proactively identify VAT risks.
Configuration and maintenance of ERP system;
Identify, document, and recommend business requirements for implementing VAT/GST tax compliance processes and system improvements
Work with internal IT, Sales and Marketing, Legal, Customer Service, and supply chain for all VAT related adhoc matters.

Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role

Qualifications:
Academic level in accounting or tax
2-3 years experience in accounting as must, experience in VAT would be plus but not must
Proficient user of Excel and other MS applications.
Fluent communication skills in English and German both written and verbal is essential.
Additional Languages will be plus, definitely not required
Pro-active and able to meet tight deadlines.
Not nine to five mentality, as we are a global company with different time zones.
Good accounting analytical and numerical skills.
The candidate must be eligible to work in Germany
