The Associate Technical Service Specialist provides in-house technical support, including hardware and software troubleshooting, for Medtronic Endoscopy portfolio products via Technical Support call center to assist customers and field staff. Utilize expertise to resolve patient-on-the-table issues as well as those occurring outside of surgery. Record all incoming support calls and emails into appropriate systems and perform appropriate follow-up actions. Share experience from customer interactions with other departments and act as the Voice of Customer on new product development teams.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Resolves technical problems that originate by telephone in a call center/help desk environment.

  • Uses expertise in customer service and technical knowledge gained from previous experience to resolve issues surrounding the installation, usage, and training of customers on software and/or hardware products.

  • May work with technical, sales, customer service or marketing staff to resolve recurring problems and issues with products.

  • Provides technical support to users for either PC, server or mainframe applications and hardware.

  • Answers questions regarding system procedures, on-line transactions, systems status and downtime procedures.

  • Interacts with network services, software systems engineering and/or applications development in order to restore service and/or identify problems.

  • Maintains a troubleshooting tracking log ensuring timely resolution of problems.

  • Recommend systems modifications in order to reduce user problems.

  • Participates on project and process teams to provide the business with technical and clinical insight, ensuring that Service’s interests are well represented.

  • Assists with creation of Service Support Plans for new product development to increase serviceability of new and existing products/systems.

  • Assists with other Educational, Service, Marketing, and Business support as needed.

  • All activities must be performed in compliance with the Quality System.

  • Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health, and safety related site rules, policies, or government regulations.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

  • Travel requirement: 10-20%

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science or technical related field.

Nice to Have

  • Solid aptitude for using PC/Desktop support

  • Prior technical service support and training experience.

  • 2+ years of work experience in a clinical/technical setting

  • Experience in networked computer environments and operating systems (DOS, UNIX preferred).

  • Experience in conflict management.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$55,200.00 - $82,800.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
