Audiologist Clinical Specialist

Job Description

Audiologists provide a full range of audiological services in the Health Center, ENT office, and other outreach sites that includes audiological evaluation, electronystagmography, evoked potential testing, real ear analysis, industrial hearing conservation services, hearing aid evaluation/dispensing and aural rehabilitation.

Department: Audiology

Hours: Full time, 40 hours/week

Shift: 1st shift

Required: PhD, MS, Licensed Audiologist, BLS or CPR within 90 days

Pay: Based on experience, starting at $81,369.60

Location: Prairie Pavillion 1 Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center

Responsibilities

Accurately prepares reports of diagnostic findings and subsequent patient contacts. , Administers and evaluates videonystagmography tests. , Completes auditory brain stem evoked response tests for retrocochlear integrity evaluation and for threshold estimation purposes. , Conducts all components of complete audiometric hearing test battery as needed for differential diagnosis of hearing loss or other specific test objectives for pediatric through geriatric life stages., Conducts inservice education programs and participates in community service programs as requested., Effectively coordinates schedule and assignments in order to assure maximum productivity, efficiency, and meet deadlines and commitment to customers including patients, other physical medicine staff members and other members of the health care team. , Maintains and consistently demonstrates competency in all areas of assigned client care needs and seeks out additional information, in services or educational opportunities to remain competent and current., Maintains and correctly utilizes department and audiometric test equipment.  Performs regular calibration checks and maintains appropriate documentation., Participates in hearing conservation programs, including consultation, noise surveys and industrial testing with appropriate use of sound level meter instrumentation.  , Performs electroacoustic analysis of hearing aids for documentation of function and troubleshooting. Performs real ear analysis/speech mapping for optimal tuning and adjusting of hearing aids., Performs real ear analysis/speech mapping for optimal tuning and adjusting of hearing aids. , Provides counseling to patients and families which may concern the current function of the hearing mechanism, the nature of the hearing loss, the use of the hearing aids or the handicapping effects of hearing loss., Provides effective management of hearing aid and other series patients. , Provides effective supervision to graduate students during their internship., Upon licensure, performs duties independently with little or no direct supervision as well as takes responsibility to supervise clinical practice of assistant or aide level staff members of the department.
