Clinical OR Specialist
Field-Based Position
The Clinical OR Specialist provides clinical, technical, and procedural support to customers in surgical environments. This individual plays a key role in building relationships, delivering high-quality training, and supporting the implementation and ongoing use of advanced surgical technologies. The role includes both clinical support and technical troubleshooting, with a strong emphasis on customer education and satisfaction.
Position Levels
Clinical OR Specialist I
0–2 years of clinical experience
Associate’s degree or relevant certificate
Clinical OR Specialist II
3–5 years of clinical experience in the OR
Experience with surgical navigation or real-time technologies preferred
Associate’s degree or higher, or relevant certification
Clinical OR Specialist III
5+ years of clinical experience in the OR
Experience with surgical navigation or real-time technologies preferred
Associate’s degree or relevant certification
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and support clinical installations in collaboration with internal teams and distribution partners
Provide real-time technical assistance during procedures
Educate and train surgeons and hospital staff on the use of the technology
Perform system maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting
Deliver remote and on-site clinical support
Act as the primary customer contact for technical issues and repair coordination
Communicate feedback, market trends, and customer concerns to leadership
Support complaint handling and resolution processes
Conduct or support internal and external training programs
Attend training events, sales meetings, and professional conferences as needed
Contribute insights to product development efforts based on field experience
Physical & Travel Requirements
Must follow healthcare universal precautions for infection control and radiation safety
Ability to support clinical cases on a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
Willingness to travel up to 75%, including overnight stays
Must be capable of working independently outside of clinical support events
Must be able to wear a 7–9 lb. protective lead apron for extended periods in the OR
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
Able to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, squat, and balance for 8+ hours per day
Vision requirements include near and far vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Must be comfortable wearing and operating augmented reality headsets
Valid driver’s license and active auto insurance required
