Clinical Specialist – Orthopedics
Candidates for this position can be based in Los Angeles CA, San Francisco CA, or in Portland Oregon.
This position will be responsible for covering CA & OR.
Purpose and Scope
Front-line customer relationship and training position responsible for providing clinical and technical support to healthcare professionals in surgical and procedural environments. This individual will support physicians, nurses, and technicians through product education, procedural guidance, and ongoing customer support. Responsibilities include assisting with pre-operative planning, ensuring inventory readiness, and supporting procedural execution in operating room settings.
The role partners closely with commercial, marketing, and professional education teams to support customer engagement, procedural adoption, and field-based education initiatives. The Clinical Specialist will contribute field insights to support training development, customer education strategies, and overall business growth initiatives.

Core Responsibilities
• Partner with sales and clinical teams to engage physicians and key stakeholders at target accounts
• Confidently address technical questions, objections, and procedural considerations using clinical knowledge and data-driven communication
• Coordinate internal resources to optimize customer experience and procedural success
• Develop deep expertise in implant systems, instrumentation, and surgical techniques
• Provide intraoperative procedural support and training to surgeons and operating room staff
• Support physician education related to procedural workflows and patient selection considerations
• Lead educational labs and hands-on training sessions as needed
• Support field activities including training, inventory management, documentation, and case logistics
• Maintain accurate product movement, inventory tracking, and field asset accountability
• Respond promptly to technical inquiries from customers and internal stakeholders
• Maintain awareness of competitive technologies and market activity
• Deliver clinical education through one-on-one sessions, in-services, workshops, and educational programs
• Provide ongoing clinical and technical support to healthcare providers and support staff
• Assist with complaint handling, documentation, observations, and follow-up activities
• Comply with all required documentation and event reporting procedures

Job Requirements
Education and Training
• Bachelor’s degree in a health science-related field, business, marketing, communications, or related discipline
Technical Requirements
• 3+ years of experience supporting surgical products, procedural training, or clinical field support
• Strong experience supporting cases in hospital operating room environments
• Solid clinical, scientific, and business acumen
• Familiarity with hospital value analysis and purchasing processes
