SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Conducts intake and initiates all necessary forms required by the program/CFS to open case. Completes Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) of CMO program charts. Establish participant rapport and trust and provides empathetic encouragement and support to participants. Ensures participant safety by examining alternatives and providing options for alleviating the immediate situational threat in relation to the crisis. Maintains a list of collaborative contacts and community services pertinent to participant's needs. Develops a plan to energize participant to take action. Obtain agreement (from participant) as to the action required to stabilize the participant or crisis situation. Provides information and referral services to community resources and agencies. Provide participant transportation. Attends case conference with other disciplines or team members. Maintains participant confidentiality at all times. Participates in program staff meetings, meets with supervisor on a regular basis, and attends training and other staff development activities, especially on topics related to pertinent laws, the judicial process and cultural/ethnic diversity. Enters data into the computer and maintains case recording, mileage logs and other miscellaneous reports in a timely fashion.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

Clinical Specialist I

  • Masters' Degree from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting agency. Requires knowledge of an advanced type along with 1-4 years of clinically supervised progressive work experience inclusive of residency, internship, or practicum in the care or treatment of youth in a mental health or educational setting.

Clinical Specialist II

  • Masters' Degree from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting agency. Requires knowledge of an advanced type along with 4+ years of clinically supervised progressive work experience inclusive of residency, internship, or practicum in the care or treatment of youth in a mental health or educational setting.

Clinical Specialist III

  • Masters' Degree from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting agency. Requires knowledge of an advanced type along with a Clinical License.

  • Other (Specify): Master's degree from a nationally accredited university as a national board-certified behavioral analyst, marriage and family therapist, mental health counselor, psychologist, social worker, school psychologist, or psychiatric nurse.

EXPERIENCE

  • Specified in Education and Training Requirements.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Skills in collaborating with other disciplines and agency personnel; knowledge of community resources and laws pertinent to crises victim; ability to maintain composure under pressure and in emergency situations; strong verbal and listening skills.

OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • This job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license and a clear driver's abstract and continued employment may be contingent on maintaining a clear driver's abstract.
  • This job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license, a clear driver's abstract, and willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island.
  • This job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license, a clear driver's abstract, and use of personal vehicle to transport participants, as needed, as well as a willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island.
  • This job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license, a clear driver's abstract, and use of agency vehicle to transport participants, as needed, as well as a willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island.
  • The nature of this position requires the incumbent to be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Verification of licensure/certification will be required at time of appointment/hire, and continued employment is contingent on maintaining licensure/certification.
  • This position is subject to a criminal background investigation and continued employment is contingent on a record clear of convictions.
  • Continued employment in this position is contingent on successful completion of CPR, CPI and/or van driving training as such training is necessary to ensure ability/continued ability to perform essential functions of this job.
  • Continued employment in this position is contingent on successful completion of CPI classes OR other Behavioral Management certification as may be contract-mandated.
  • Continued employment in this position is contingent on successful completion of First Aid classes.
