Overview:

The Global Mobility Specialist is a subject matter expert in relocation, tax, and immigration supporting BD’s relocating associates internationally and within the United States. Owns the global mobility lifecycle in coordination with external vendors including Relocation Management Company (RMC), Tax and Immigration and ensures process excellence. Works with minimal supervision managing caseload and ensuring the successful relocation lifecycle in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors.

Key responsibilities:

Relocation:

  • Manages a dedicated caseload and provides specialist advice and expertise as the main point of contact to international and US domestic associates and candidates under BD’s Global Mobility Policies regarding relocation, immigration, taxation and related processes.
  • Partners with RMC in the generation of cost projections, and owns the Letter of Understanding process including creation, execution, and document control.
  • Audits associate relocation benefits and works closely with associates and vendors to address any gaps

Process Excellence:

  • Perform daily administration of mobility related tasks (review of vendor invoices, record keeping, initiating relocations, tracking and updating databases, etc.).
  • Understands key performance indicators related to own work and the importance of metrics in defining success (e.g., efficiency and effectiveness)
  • Provides team input to continuously improve the Global Mobility function, procedures, and processes.
  • Partners with wider Global Mobility Team, Talent Acquisition and ASC to ensure that processes and policies are implemented consistently, and information is shared effectively.
  • Works closely with external service providers such as relocation, tax and immigration vendor, coordinating their services and analyzing quality of delivery on an ongoing basis.

Immigration & Tax:

  • Owns the immigration process for associates, supporting in the gathering and managing of all relevant immigration paperwork in cooperation with our immigration service provider, HR, and managers
  • Ensures timelines and milestones are aligned and achieved to align with proposed start dates
  • Proactively maintains oversight of immigration lifecycles including upcoming expirations dates and long-term immigration strategies
  • Supports compensation and tax activities as directed by team to ensure associate compliance, timeliness, and escalation of any and all compensation and tax issues

Technology:

  • Supports technology processes and collaborates with the external vendors to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and timeliness
  • Supports internal and external data audits as required
  • Ensures data relating to mobility cases is managed with great attention to detail, uploaded to internal and external systems of records, and in line with governmental requirements (Data privacy, GDPR, etc.)
  • Manages Global Mobility Workday transactions
  • Maintain employee forms, files, data, and more with the highest level of confidentiality and integrity

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years of experience preferred with international and domestic Global Mobility (in-house or service provider)
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization required
  • Experience with tax, social security, legal, immigration and policy compliance issues required
  • Experience with nonimmigrant US visas (L1, H3, TN, O), permanent residency, and national interest waivers required
  • MS Office skills including Power Point, Word, and advanced Excel skills required
  • Experience working with Visio Flow Charts, Workday, and Power BI preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision required
  • Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred

Salary Range Information

$91,600.00 - $151,100.00 USD Annual
