Summary:
The Procedural Specialist assists the physician by acting as the primary scrub technician who handles the instruments, supplies and equipment during surgical procedures. The Procedural Specialist will also be responsible for preparing and sterilizing all necessary instruments and equipment needed for each procedure.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the physician during interventional or diagnostic procedures by:

  • Handling the instruments, supplies and equipment during the procedure

  • Preparing and organizing the required instruments and equipment for each procedure

  • Maintaining an organized sterile field

  • Retrieval and proper handling of devices used during the procedure

  • Traveling to off-site locations to assist in procedures when necessary

  • Demonstrating knowledge of safe operation of all endovascular equipment

  • Maintenance of patient charts

  • Other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

  • Knowledgeable in operating room procedures and protocols

  • Basic understanding of human anatomy

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Proficient computer skills

  • Flexibility to work in a fast paced environment

  • Physically able to lift up to 25 pounds, ability to stand for long periods of time and navigate the hospital system

Preferred:

  • Minimum one year experience in perioperative environment preferred

  • Experience working with physicians/surgeons preferred
