A Day in the Life

The Defibrillation Solutions (DS) business is made up of the foundational therapies of Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators (ICDs), Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy Defibrillators (CRT-Ds), and the TYRX Business Franchise. The DS product portfolio is among the largest revenue contributors across Medtronic with an extensive global footprint and exciting growth opportunities.

As part of the Defibrillation Solutions (DS) Integrated Operating Unit, the Commercial Marketing organization is seeking a driven, passionate, and global-minded Senior Global Product Manager. The Senior Global Product Manager, as part of the DS Commercial Marketing Team, owns and manages the TYRX Absorbable Antibacterial Envelope Franchise. This role will be responsible for the development and execution of global marketing strategies to drive the global adoption of this market-leading technology.

Position Description

We are hiring a global senior product manager that will own the product marketing strategy and execution for this category-leading innovation across cardiac and neuro indications. This highly visible role will serve as the global product leader accountable for driving increased global penetration.

We are seeking a commercially driven individual with a demonstrated track record of driving results, engaging a field organization and with prior product/program marketing and/or launch leadership experience. Innovation, creativity, team leadership, and an executional mindset will be integral capabilities to deliver on continued growth opportunities of this franchise. This individual will craft the commercial strategy for current and future technologies, define clinical evidence needs and dissemination plans, and support customer engagements with key opinion leaders. This role will report to the Sr. Director of Commercial Marketing.

A Day in the Life

  • Responsible for the development and execution of commercial strategies and tactics including competitive messaging, account segmentation & targeting, positioning, and pricing & contracting.

  • Lead extended commercial and cross functional teams to ensure successful commercial launch of future technologies. This including alignment with education, sales training & operations, operations, regulatory, legal, clinical, and other stakeholders.

  • Develop marketing strategies and tactics to ensure effective product commercialization relative to market opportunity, working closely with regional marketing leaders over entire product life cycle including new product introduction and phase out.

  • Identify and execute on synergistic opportunities to integrate and promote portfolio.

  • Work with finance and operations to maintain financial and market models and demand forecast.

  • Develop/execute tactics leveraging cross-functional, cross business unit, and field partners to achieve goals.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 7+ years of experience in a marketing role with a Bachelors degree, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience.

  • Product management or launch/commercialization experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA

  • Experience in the healthcare or medical device industry (general knowledge of practices, techniques and standards (e.g. roles of clinical trials, reimbursement landscape)

  • Clinical/technical understanding of cardiovascular therapies and procedure or demonstrated ability to learn technical products quickly

  • Project management skills

  • Superior written and verbal communications skills

  • Strong negotiation and influence management skills

  • Proven ability to lead effectively in a dynamic, matrix environment

  • Strong communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills

  • Sound financial and business analytics skills

  • Ability to plan, organize, monitor, and execute marketing projects

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$132,800.00 - $199,200.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
