A Day in the Life

Position Overview:
The Senior Field Therapy Training Manager – Advanced Carotid will serve as Medtronic’s field therapy expert for Advanced Carotid procedures. This role is responsible for building and developing comprehensive programs to train, develop, and certify sales and clinical specialists on Advanced Carotid therapy. This role will lead case planning, support complex procedures, and drive therapy adoption by delivering expert field support and education. This highly visible leadership position requires both clinical and commercial acumen, exceptional training skills, high accountability for commercial success, and a passion for improving patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the field therapy expert for Advanced Carotid procedures providing advanced clinical and technical support for case planning and complex procedures.
  • Build, develop, and implement training and certification programs for sales and clinical teams, ensuring proficiency in Advanced Carotid therapy and procedural support.
  • Stand up a robust case planning and sizing capability for the field, including establishing standardized processes for patient selection, procedural strategy, and risk assessment.
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in reading, interpreting, and teaching all relevant medical imaging modalities (CT, MRI, ultrasound, angiography, etc.) for Advanced Carotid procedures.
  • Educate and train field teams and clinicians on image-based procedural planning, device sizing, and anatomical considerations to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Design and build out proctoring programs for both field-based and corporate headquarters environments, supporting hands-on learning, skill validation, and ongoing competency.
  • Collaborate closely with the Carotid Training Program Manager to ensure alignment on training priorities, strategies, and execution.
  • Support onboarding activities and continuous education programs in close partnership with the Carotid Training Program Manager.
  • Partner with the broader Global Sales Training Team on various workstreams to identify and leverage synergies across training teams and initiatives.
  • Identify knowledge or performance gaps within the field team and develop targeted training solutions.
  • Provide timely evaluation and feedback to trainees and their managers/supervisors, supporting continuous improvement and development.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (marketing, sales, clinical, and executive leadership) to align field activities with business strategies.
  • Support digital health initiatives and remote procedural planning where appropriate.
  • Maintain and update sales and clinical support systems, providing feedback to improve product design and field processes.
  • Represent Medtronic’s commitment to workplace inclusion, equity, and diverse healthcare solutions.

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree (clinical, scientific, or related field preferred).
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant clinical, sales, or training experience, including experience with vascular or aortic therapies.
  • 2+ years direct TCAR procedural support experience.
  • Travel up to 50%

Nice to Have:

  • Demonstrated expertise in procedure planning, case support, and clinical education.
  • Advanced ability to read, understand, and train others on all relevant medical imaging modalities.
  • Experience building and implementing training, certification, and proctoring programs.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop field teams.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Previous experience launching new medical technologies or therapies.
  • Experience in adult education or sales training.
  • Prior leadership or management experience in a clinical or commercial setting.
  • Advanced knowledge of sales effectiveness strategies and tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$140,800.00 - $211,200.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
