The goal of the Sr Curriculum Manager is to drive the growth of the sales organization within the Structural Heart Operating Unit by enhancing their clinical and commercial capabilities through world-class training programs. The Sr Curriculum Manager will meet the needs of the business through advancing clinical training by implementing standardized global training curricula and training strategy. Expectations of the role include demonstrating the behaviors of the Medtronic Mindset to ensure the Mission, strategy, and culture are driven throughout our commercial teams.
The Sr Curriculum Manager will be responsible for the design and development of training programs to global commercial employees within the Structural Heart business. These initiatives will be focused on the capabilities and development of our global commercial employees including, but not limited to, new hires, current sellers, market development specialists, first-line sales managers. This will involve working in close collaboration with regional training teams, GFTD team, Structural Heart Commercial Marketing, Medical Affairs, R&D, HR, Sales Leadership and Field Sales/Clinical Trainers.
This is a remote position which could require up to 20% of travel including global.
A Day in the Life
• Drive meaningful solutions across the training continuum including, but not limited to, new hires, current sellers, advanced training, recertifications, and product launches
• Use gap analysis discussions with Marketing and Sales to develop programs that build new capabilities to address identified gaps and align with future needs of the organization
• Partner with regional training teams to customize content and delivery approach to achieve ~80% global standardization and ~20% local customization (where applicable)
• Lead New Product Launch Excellence by aligning with global/regional stakeholders (Sales Training/Marketing/Sales/Medical Affairs)
• Collaborate with Data & Analytics Team to create and implement targeted metrics strategy and iterate appropriately based on feedback and results
• Routinely collaborate with global training to audit clinical curriculum ensuring the continuous improvement of training programs
• Align with Structural Heart Marketing on materials and programs for the existing portfolio and new product launches
• Develop and maintain strong executive stakeholder relationships
• Identify talent and find resource efficiencies by utilizing field seller/regional training Subject Matter Experts on curricula development and deployment where applicable
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree required with 7+ years of relevant experience in one or more of the following functions: Sales, Clinical Training, Sales Training, Marketing, Medical Education (5 years with Advanced degree)
• Minimum of 5 years of field sales or clinical experience
Preferred Experience:
• MBA or Advanced degree
• Experience with project management/project leadership, excellent planning and organizational skills
• Experience in the design of training curricula
• Proven ability to manage multiple, complex projects concurrently
• Excellent influencing, interpersonal, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills with demonstrated leadership and coaching capabilities
• Self-motivator who can apply innovative thinking to define solutions to business problems; solution oriented
• In-depth knowledge of the field sales organization, structure, processes and culture
• High capacity to learn in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to operate independently
